BREAK UP

Hey Fashionistas!!!!
Hope you had an eventful Thanksgiving break filled with many opportunities to shop until you drop. HOLLERRR
A couple of weeks ago, one of my friends recommended for me to listen to the new Scarlett Johansson and Pete Yorn album entitled Break Up. I listened to the first song "Relator" and it blew my mind away. Who knew that Scarlett Johannson could sing? I mean, I knew she had a album before this one, but that album received really bad reviews. She has a great voice and with the collaboration of Pete Yorn, this album is truly well done and written. Pete Yorn wrote the majority of all the songs.
In this album, they sing about relationships. The highs and the lows included. They sing about how distance strains a relationship and about falling in love with the person of your dreams. But the best part about this album is that they make it relate-able. That's right...relate-able. I mean, many people can relate to having an awful break-up or falling in love for the first time. That's why this album is amazing, in my opinion. Why make music that people can't relate to?
But anyway listen to this album and I promise you won't regret it.
Later Fashionistas and remember do what you love and love what you do

MA ROBE ROSE DE PRESSE
So a couple weeks ago in my fashion merchandising class, our assignment was to make a costume design for a movie genre and to make the dress out of anything we wanted. The movie genre I picked was Sci-Fi. I imagined that my dress would be a cool prom dress for a Sci-Fi movie. So I decided to make my dress, out of newspaper. It wasn't an easy task. First, I had to find newspaper and glue the layers of newspaper together. Then, I mixed paint colors to make the pink color to paint on the newspaper. After the paint dried, I tape the edges with duct tape to give the dress a finished look. Then, I fitted the dress to my model (my little sister). I made the dress to have one shoulder strap and a fitted waist line.
Overall, I loved this project and the dress! On the waist line, there is a little flower made out of newspaper.
The dress is a original design by moi (Taylor Danielle).
Here's some shots of the dress on my model on the upper right side.
Well later for now my beauties and remember...do what you love and love what you do!

THE VIRGIN SUICIDES

This movie is one of the best movies I have ever seen. Mad props to Sofia Coppola who directed it. BEYOND AMAZING! If you haven't seen this movie, rent it, buy it, netflix it...just make sure that you get the chance to see it.
The movie is about the suicides of five sisters living in 1970s Grosse Point, Michigan. And I know what you thinking "Ohhh suicide! We can't watch a movie on that!!" But seriously this is a fascinating movie. The death of the five sisters shook the community they lived in to the core as a group of young boys try to find an explanation for their acts.
Here's a picture of the school heartthrob, Trip Fontaine (played by Josh Hartnett) on the top right. I think that every girl can relate to the having a crush on the school hottie, if you know what I mean. Then on top left, there's a picture of the four Lisbon sisters (played by Kirsten Dunst, A.J. Cook, Leslie Hayman and Chelsea Swain)
This movie is not only about suicide, but about freedom. Many teenagers like myself, want freedom. Freedom makes us feels independent as individuals and we can finally get away from parents. That's exactly what the Lisbon girls wanted. Freedom. But at what point will we get the chance to obtain freedom?
Pressure is another big factor. Pressure to find in and conforming to the norm. In the Virgin Suicides case, the pressure came in when Trip wanted to have sex with Lux Lisbon. But just because we are pressure to do something, doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. Stick out and be a individual. Be different and be bold. Don't be afraid to be yourself. Be unique. That's why I love fashion because it gives me a chance to be a individual. A cool and funky one.
But anyway, this movie is the best! GO SEE IT!
Later Fashionistas. and remember... do what you love and love what you do!
