This song is my jam! Chiddy Bang is the name of this band. They perform at Lollapalooza this year. I wish I could have saw them perform. This song- "Opposite of Adults" has the beat from MGMT's hit song, Kids. It's the perfect mix of hip-hop and electro music. LOVE. This music video is really cool..so watch.

Blind Pilot - The Story I Heard
I stumbled on this song a couple years ago, it's freaking beautiful. This band was featured in the November isssue of NYLON if you want to read up more about them.
REASONS LIKE SEASONS, THEY CONSTANTLY CHANGE.
I've been away from my blog for quite sometime. These past months have been crazy for me..Applying to college and everything. So much has happen..it's hard to wrap my mind around. Coming up in November, this blog will be a year old. A YEAR OLD. Since then my life has completely change..I've decided for sure that I want to pursue and study fashion in college and which college I want to go to. My taste in music has changed. I don't really listen to the same music I used to. But overall, change is good. In the next couple of months, my high school experience will be coming to an end, so I might just get used to change. ANYWAY..
I've came up with a list of college that I'm applying to. Here they are...
1. Columbia College Chicago
2. Drexel University
3. Kent State University
4. Illinois State University
5. School of the Art Institute of Chicago
6. Western Illinois University
I know for sure that I will get into Columbia and Western. But I'm not sure about the others, only time will tell. I finished my app for Kent State yesterday and got all my stuff in for Western Illinois, so in a matter of weeks I should know. FINGERS CROSSED.
I'm done with my random rant..I'll post more soon.

MAKE THIS GO ON FOREVER.
BAM. Just like that, I will start with a new blog post. Starting with my Fashion class at Columbia. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that class. I've learned so much about being a designer and the fashion industry. I mean, sure, it's alot of work and everything but I don't mind. Sketching collections with certain color palette and fabric swatches. In my class, we do everything with fashion design besides sewing. For our final project,, we have to create our final collection with nature or architecture as our influence. We also have to draw four designs and have a certain theme, color palette and fabric swatches. My theme is "The Secret Garden" with the influence of the rose flower. I'm so excited. We have to present our final collection to the class and they will be displayed in a gallery for our final showcase.
Here's a picture of a dress I made for class:

FLOWERS PHOTOGRAPHY.
"Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead. The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring."

THE PRETTY RECKLESS

Let's talk about music shall we?
I have a new band obsession. At first I was a little skeptical of this band because of the lead singer Taylor Momsen. After listening to their songs for awhile, the band is not that bad. Actually, Taylor Momsen has a nice voice. Well if you haven't guessed the band yet, it's The Pretty Reckless. The Pretty Reckless is alternative rock band that was formed in 2009 and it's fronted by Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen. I'm a big fan of Gossip Girl and Momsen but at first I was unsure about her singing career. At first on Gossip Girl, her character was sweet, innocent and naive and all of a sudden she turned into this hardcore punk rock, Joan Jett wannabe. With super long locks and dark eye makeup. I think that change was a personal one and she was only trying to be herself. Which is good. But the change was very sudden. The lead single from their self-titled EP- "Make Me Wanna Die" is really excellent. The song is filled with guitar riffs, a killer chorus and filled with teen angst together. Momsen's voice sounds very serious and filled with a "kick-ass" type of sound. All in all, Taylor Momsen is not a poser. She is the real deal. Not like those other actress turned singer types. The Pretty Reckless' debut album is going to released sometime in August but if you are interested in this band's music you can check out their EP on Itunes.
OH MY FRANCE!
It has been awhile since I last posted anything. I was caught in a tornado of homework and finals in the last couple weeks of school. But I am finally a senior now! I am even closer to graduation. For the summer, I was accepted into a program at Columbia College Chicago for Fashion Design. I am ready for my program to start. I'm so excited! But while I've been away I've been taking some cool pictures of Chicago and my neighborhood. All of these photos have been taken with a Canon Powershot SX20 IS named Penelope. Enjoy!

MODEL BEHAVIOR
Salut Mes Amis!!!
Ohhh boy. The month of April has been work-filled. Being a high school junior is hard work. I have ACT testing this week, synchronized swimming show this weekend and a parade to march in on Saturday morning. Straight up crazyness. But hey, being active in my community is a good thing. Two weeks ago, I had my student fashion show at my high school. Overall, it was a total success. All the looks were well put together and the designer pieces were beautiful. Even my parents came to the fashion show to see my dress.
About my dress: My dress was made completely out of newspaper. It was painted/splatter painted with black and yellow arcylic paint. My inspiration for this dress was MGMT's song Time to Pretend, which talks about the rock n'roll lifestyle and the pains of growing up. I actually came up with the vision of this dress as I was listening to this song. The dress has two straps and a sweetheart neckline. The skirt part of the dress has two slits on the side. My model wore black fishnets, black silver- studded boots, black jean vest, a black cross and black oval sunglasses. BLACK. BLACK. BLACK. My model also sported wavy hair to finish the complete look. The picture of my model on the runway is above.
Overall, I am complete happy with the outcome of my dress. Alot of tears, fears and hard work went into making the dress. I am proud of my design and my dress. At the end of the fashion show, the designers got to walk out at the end. Seeing people clap and cheer like that for fashion is a great feeling. I can get use to that feeling for the rest of my life.
Well enough of my fashion-based rant. I've got to go.
Later Fashionistas...and remenber one thing for me.
do what you love and love what you do.

QUOTE OF IMPORTANCE
"Are you sure this world is for you? And are you sure you are the right person to survive in this world- the world of fashion- a world without rules, no laws? Answer that question honestly for yourself. Are you ready to accept injustice? The idea of the fashion industry may look better from the outside. It can look like the world of dream jobs- for a very happy few."

LISZTOMANIA.
Hello Fashionistas!!!!
I have been away from my dear blog for over a month. That is very disappointing. But I have been doing plenty of productive things during that time. For starters, I got new glasses- black Ray-Bans. I am wearing them right now. They are absolutely beautiful and I will most def post pictures of them. Next, I am designing a dress for my high school student fashion show. I'm soooo excited...I have my own model and everything. It's a dream come true that I can show my creations to my school. I will def post pictures of the dress. I am going to make it out of newspaper again...just to be original. Another thing-- I am going to New York for my spring break. I'm soo excited..I have never been to New York before and this would be the perfect opportunity to look at some fashion schools. Ever since I took the PSAT last year, I have been getting tons of mail from different colleges. Especially design schools. I have gotten mail from LIM College and Parsons as well. New York City seems like a amazing city. That would be sooo awesome if I could go to school there. Last thing, I got a new camera...it's so lovely. It's a Canon Powershot SX20 IS. I love it so much. I have been saving up my money since January to purchase it. Also, I worked alot over the summer for my Aunt's insurance business and received alot of money that helped to purchase my camera. AHHHHHH! I need to name my camera...I think I will name it Penelope. She is soooo pretty. I will take so many pictures of my adventures in New York and I pinky-swear I will post them.
Wow. That's pretty much it.
Later Fashionistas!!
And please remember for thing for me...

It's 8:30 and I'm up and ready to talk about fashion. So let's get to it.

These dresses look really comfortable...like really really comfortable. I like the cool look to the dresses as well. The majority of the looks are free flowing, like anything can happen when you wear a dress like that. Perfect looks for fall, since fall is the time for serious change.
